Getting a head start on holiday shopping before the rush can help you save time and money as you can take advantage of sales, have a better choice and use free online resources. In fact, the National Retail Federation reports that 41% of holiday shoppers planned to begin their shopping before Halloween.

For the remaining 59%, here are some helpful tips to save before the upcoming holiday season.

As you plan your holiday shopping, look at weekly ads online ahead of time to see what’s on sale, especially for Black Friday door busters.

Use online shopping features to help you stick to your budget. The online shopping cart’s total tallying feature keeps you within budget. If you realize you are overspending, just unload your cart without an embarrassment or line hold up as you would at the store.

If you prefer to go to the stores, you can still use your computer to save. Print a retail coupon that you find free online and bring it with you to save.

Give yourself a gift. In addition to earning cash back when you shop online, use your rewards credit card to earn points or cash back when you shop online for holiday gifts. Just be sure to pay your balance off each month!
